Developing an Accurate & Reliable Predictive Model
Insight42 will typically develop a data strategy to support the business strategy objectives. This process usually takes place in parallel with the analytics proof of concept. There is no requirement during the proof of concept for the client to have a structured data warehouse as all testing is conducted using an Insight42 private cloud. The cloud hosts data and analytic capabilities as well as generic dashboards for the purposes of viewing outcomes. Insight42 model development has two steps:
Step 1. generating a model, then
Step 2. checking the model for accuracy (sometimes called diagnostics).
The diagnostic step is important because a model is only useful to the extent that it accurately mirrors the relationships that it purports to describe. The Insight42 cloud hosts the creation and diagnostics for model creation. It is an iterative process in which a model is modified and improved with each iteration of diagnosis and respecification. Once a satisfactory model is found, it is double checked by applying it to a different data set.
Insight42’s deployment process involves the initial proof of concept (model generation and diagnostics) where comparison of results by existing approaches and Insight42’s approach is provided. The proof of concept stage is used to demonstrate Insight42’s value proposition which includes;
(i) testing Insight’s ability to deliver a more accurate and reliable predictive model within a short timeframe
(ii) producing a commercial outcome that covers 100% of the full deployment costs within a 12 month period.
Once a commercial demonstration is complete, a statement of work is prepared and a full deployment begins. The majority of deployments involve industry specific strategy, marketing, sales and service, business operations, research and analytics teams. Insight42 contracts these industry specialists where required. In the specific instance were clients have contracted arrangements Insight42 will use preferred suppliers.
